
Recruitment Process - UI/UX Designer

Sabilink is a technology accelerator hub in Abuja, Nigeria, and British Columbia, Canada. Our mission is to attract world-class talent, group them together to solve problems and build startup ideas.
To achieve this, we need to ensure that everyone who joins our team, regardless of background, has strong problem-solving skills and role-specific expertise.
Our recruitment process is in four phases:
Phase I: Problem-Solving
We host a 1-hour online workshop to introduce applicants to design thinking and user-centered problem-solving.
Applicants will solve interactive exercises. Curious applicants are encouraged to visit our accelerator hub to showcase their approach.
Phase 2: Job Specific Rolemap
UI/UX Designer — Review one of our website pages, reimagine the stock images currently in use, and create an original drawing (no stock or copied artwork) to replace them.
Phase 3: Interview
Present and defend your work, share your design inspirations, and discuss salary expectations. Successful applicants will advance to Phase 4.
Phase 4: Hackathon
We will host a hackathon for one day at our hub where you will be tasked to design a 1-2 page website. We evaluate your design task based on:
- Understanding of UX principles and user-centered design
- Clarity and consistency of visual design
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD)
- Creativity and originality in your design approach
